Who Is the Dyson 360 Vis Nav Actually For?
Summary
The Dyson 360 Vis Nav is a vacuum-only robot built around camera navigation and suction that reaches right up to the wall. It suits homes that handle mopping some other way and want fine control over suction and no-go areas room by room. It costs $999.99, but the dock only charges it, so you empty the bin by hand, and Dyson's US site currently lists it as out of stock.
Camera navigation
A 360-degree vision system and 26 sensors map the room, and an LED ring lights the way in low light. Dyson says the camera reads only shapes and contrast and never records or sends images.
Floors and edges
The brush bar spans the full width of the robot and combines carbon filaments, stiff bristles, and soft nylon, which Dyson says works on both carpet and hard floors. Instead of side brushes, an extending side duct redirects suction toward the wall to pick up debris along the edge. It climbs thresholds up to 0.8 in and can't be used on damp or wet floors.
Room-by-room control in the app
You need the MyDyson app to set the robot up. Once it maps your home, you can pick Auto, Quick, Quiet, or Boost for each zone, turn off the brush bar for deep-pile rugs or rooms where you want it quieter, mark no-climb zones, and set areas to avoid.
Before you buy
- The dock charges the robot but doesn't empty it. You empty the bin yourself with a one-touch release.
- Run time is up to 65 minutes, and it picks up where it left off after recharging.
- Dyson's US site shows it as out of stock as of September 23, 2026.
