Segway Navimow i Series or X3 Series: Which One Fits Your Lawn?
Summary
As a rule of thumb, the i Series covers lawns up to about 0.4 acre, and the X3 covers larger properties from about 1 acre up to 2.5 acres. Both skip the boundary wire and use a map in the app to define where to mow. Once lawn size points you to a series, check slope ratings and how each one gets its RTK corrections.
i Series: typical residential yards
The US lineup has four models: the i105 (about 0.125 acre), i206 AWD (about 0.15 acre), i210 AWD (about 0.25 acre), and i215 LiDAR (about 0.37 acre). They use EFLS 2.0, which combines RTK with vision. Segway says network RTK access, which delivers corrections over a cellular connection, is included at no extra cost along with the required data, but only where there is coverage. The page does not state a time limit on that, so ask before you buy if it matters to you. Use the postcode checker on Navimow's site before you buy.
Segway lists 30% incline climbing for the front-wheel-drive models; the AWD models are built for steeper ground, so check the slope rating on the specific AWD model page. For a hilly yard, go AWD. The i215 LiDAR adds a solid-state LiDAR sensor for more precise positioning.
X3 Series: larger properties
Three models: the X330 (1.0 acre), X350 (1.5 acres), and X390 (2.5 acres). EFLS 3.0 strengthens visual positioning on top of RTK and supports dual RTK signals, although the second antenna is sold separately. For obstacles, VisionFence uses a ToF sensor and three cameras covering a 300° field of view. Slopes up to 27° are supported.
What the app lets you do
Both series let you draw boundaries, set off-limit zones, and connect separate lawn areas with channels to manage multiple zones. When you add a flower bed or change what gets mowed by season, you edit the map instead of digging up wire.
Choosing in order
Pick the series by lawn size, then the drive type by your steepest slope. Finally, confirm network RTK coverage at your address and note how much of your yard sits under trees or next to buildings.
