Explorer E10: floor cleaning for above-ground pools

The Explorer E10 is made for above-ground pools and cleans the floor on a 1.5-hour cycle. It does not clean walls or the waterline. At about 14.6 lb, it's light enough to lift over the pool wall without much effort. There's no app, timer, or remote, so you start it by hand each time. It carries a two-year warranty. The product page shows no price and instead points you to local dealers.

Nautilus CC Plus: floor and walls for in-ground pools

The Nautilus CC Plus is built for in-ground pools and cleans the floor and walls on a two-hour default cycle. It does not scrub the waterline. The MyDolphin Plus app lets you start, monitor, and schedule cleanings remotely, and there's a weekly timer. Its ultra-fine filter captures debris down to 70 microns. It sells for $749 in the Maytronics store, and the store listing shows a one-year warranty (the Explorer E10 listing shows two years).

If you're still unsure

Neither model is specified for the other pool type, so once you know your pool, the choice is made. Neither one scrubs the waterline either. If a ring at the water's surface bothers you, you'll need a model that lists waterline cleaning; the comparison table on the Nautilus CC Plus page shows the CC Supreme ($1,299) covering floor, walls, and waterline.
