Can the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Clean a Large Pool on One Charge?
Summary
For the floor, yes: Beatbot says it can clean a pool with up to 3,230 sq ft of bottom area in a single session of up to four hours. The product page doesn't give a runtime for cleaning walls and waterline as well, so for a large pool where you want everything done in one run, that number is still missing. When it finishes, it floats up and parks at the surface, which makes it easy to pull out of a deep pool.
Up to four hours on the floor
A 10,000 mAh battery powers up to four hours of continuous floor cleaning, and the recommended pool size is 300 m² (3,230 sq ft) of bottom area. It also cleans walls and the waterline, scrubbing the waterline twice on each pass. It does not clean the water surface.
Surface parking makes retrieval easy
When a cycle ends or the battery runs low, the robot rises and parks at the surface. SmartDrain lets water run out as you lift it, which helps with a robot that weighs about 23 lb.
Navigation and depth
Sixteen sensors, including two ultrasonic sensors, map the pool and help it plan routes and avoid obstacles. It works at depths from 1.31 to 9.84 ft. Beatbot says it can clean steps if they are wide enough and the water on them is deeper than 0.98 ft.
Charging and price
It charges on a vertical wireless dock in about four hours. When we checked, it was $799, down from $1,298, with a three-year warranty. For bigger pools, the AquaSense 2 Pro is rated for up to 3,875 sq ft of bottom area.
