WINBOT W2 PRO OMNI vs. W3 OMNI: What's Actually Different?

Published · By the BotLineup editors · Prices and specs as of that date, from the pages under Sources

Summary

The biggest difference is what happens to the dirty pads. The W3 OMNI washes them inside its station, while with the W2 PRO OMNI you wash them by hand. The W3 OMNI also gets newer route planning and edge scrubbing, and battery runtime goes from about 110 minutes to up to 130. When we checked, the W2 PRO OMNI was $499.99 and the W3 OMNI $599.00.

Cleanup after each use

The W3 OMNI's Vortex Wash sprays the pads from 16 high-pressure nozzles inside the station, scrubs them with spinning discs, and scrapes away the dirty water, all in about a minute. The W2 PRO OMNI's station reels in the cable, supplies battery power, and doubles as a carrying and storage case, but it doesn't wash pads. How much you want to avoid pulling off and washing pads after every session is the main question.

Edges and routes

The W2 PRO OMNI uses WIN-SLAM 4.0 for route planning. The W3 OMNI moves to WIN-SLAM 5.0 and adds a TruEdge scrubber that drops down at the edge of the glass to work into corners, then retracts. In Fast mode, ECOVACS rates the W2 PRO OMNI at about 1 minute 45 seconds per square meter and the W3 OMNI at about 1 minute 35 seconds.

Runtime and safety

The W2 PRO OMNI draws on a 4,500 mAh battery in its station system for 110 minutes (±10%), enough for about 55 m² in Fast mode. The W3 OMNI runs up to 130 minutes on a charge. Both can also run plugged in.

Safety features are much the same. Both use a combined power-and-safety cable rated up to 100 kg of tensile strength, with an extra 1 m safety rope under the station, and ECOVACS says both stay on the glass for more than 30 minutes even with a low battery.

Window requirements

The W2 PRO OMNI needs glass at least 30 × 40 cm and 3 mm thick, framed or frameless. The W3 OMNI product page lists only the 3 mm minimum thickness; it doesn't give a minimum window size or say whether frameless glass is supported.
